APPLICATIONS OPEN NOVEMBER 15th 2019

PERFORMANCES MARCH 28th 5pm & 8pm and March 29th 3pm

For 17 years the Mid-Atlantic Choreographers Showcase has produced over 130 choreographers from 60 different cities. The Showcase has continually been the only dance festival on the east coast that provides support for new works choreographed by professional dance artists. Through an adjudication process, the choreographers are selected for the Showcase with the ultimate goal of providing three performances of eclectic and engaging dance works within one weekend in Richmond, Virginia. It is our goal to recognize and promote other dance companies and expose them to the flourishing dance scene in Richmond.

Stockton University Spring Dance Concert
Feb

to Mar 2

Stockton University Spring Dance Concert

Spring Dance Concert highlights the gifted artists of the Stockton Dance community, presenting dances from notable choreographers that challenge these maturing performers. Richmond-based Starr Foster shares her award-winning choreography that “embraces the human spirit.” In her quest to make the world “richer with art,” Foster creates dances full of clever partnering, technical polish, and architectural compositions. Founding member of Gallim Dance and Julliard graduate Caroline Fermin blends her improvisational interests, Gaga-infused physicality, and “fiercely expressive and virtuosic” technique in her choreography for the Performing Arts Center stage. These nationally recognized guest artists join resident choreographers Rain Ross, Caitlin Quinn Pittenger, and Beau Hancock, whose eclectic, imaginative choreography dependably delights. This diverse program promises to be a moving evening.
